I would like these to be similar to The Guild. Each episode should be interesting in it's own merit, but if played back to back, it will run like a movie. The overall story should also loosely follow the Hero's Journey, unless we have a specific reason for departing from it.

Have you decided where you'll place Freedom in the story arc at large? Where will it fall in the timeline of the Verse?

Since this story really only matters to the people on this particular planet, it doesn't make any difference when it happens, as long as it's after the Unification War (Locke is a former Browncoat). But to keep things easy, we'll say that it takes place around the same time as Redemption. If we reference Miranda, it will be one of those "This guy is talking about politics to make himself sound smart, but he really doesn't care" things.

Episode List and Overall Plot Empty Re: Episode List and Overall Plot

This is the same as what's in the writer's bible. I've noted who will be writing which episodes, and I'll update it as we assign the rest out. If you see one that hasn't been claimed yet and you'd like to have a crack at it, speak up quick.

1.01 - Locke and Gale arrive on the planet. Kenshin sends them after his daughter, Ava. He says that she has gone to Sho-Je Downs to “party.” In reality, Ava is investigating him.
We must learn that Kenshin isn’t quite on the level. We must care about the characters. Most movies get about 20 minutes to do this. We get half of that. Written by Ryan John McPherson.

1.02 - Locke and Gale track Ava on Sho-Je Downs. They discover the slave house run by Darrius. Leanne (one of the slaves) asks them to help her, but they don't listen.
This is when we meet the secondary characters. This is also the first call to be a hero, which is ignored (not necessarily rejected). Written by Ryan John McPherson.

1.03 - Locke and Gale chase Ava to a nearby planet. Ava leads them to the mines, and evidence that many of the slaves were kidnapped. She escapes.
This continues the setup, and shows Locke and Gale, as well as the audience, just what Ava is fighting against. This will be a fairly dark episode. Written by Samuel Johnson.

1.04 - The chase continues with their ships. Ava is finally captured.
This episode is mostly fun and games, with maybe a little fan service. Light tone. Written by Michael J. Welch.

1.05 - They stop at a space station to refuel while she is being transported back to her father. Ava insists that they celebrate her birthday, and later asks Locke for help.
This is all fun and games to start, but ends with the second call for Locke to be a hero. Written by John Barnes.

1.06 - Locke agrees to help her. Gale refuses. They fight. Locke is injured, but is able to run away with Ava. Gale takes Freedom.
Very dark episode, as Locke is now choosing between his partner and the girl. This is when Locke finally steps out of his shell and becomes the hero. We should probably even see his Browncoat come out. Written by John Barnes.

1.07 - Ava nurses Locke back to health. They find a ship.
This is all character development. We find that Ava knows how to take care of others, and we see Locke’s resourcefulness. We can also reveal some backstory. Written by Michael J. Welch.

1.08 - Ava and Locke make it back to the slave house. Darrius has tightened things down.
This is all about tension, leading up to the finale. Written by Samuel Johnson.

1.09 - Leanne is sold to an abusive man. Locke is unable to stop it.
In most movies, this is where someone dies. Leanne is lost, which is in some ways worse than dying. Darkest episode of the season. Written by John Barnes.

1.10 - Kenshin finds Ava, and she is forced to confront him.
Ava’s moment to shine. Written by Rex Rouviere.

1.11 - Ava and Locke go back to the slave house to free the remaining girls. They fight Darrius, but are interrupted when Gale arrives. The girls run Darrius off.
The girls’ turn to shine. We see Gale as the villain, since he represents everything that Locke wishes he was never a part of. Written by Samuel Johnson.

1.12 - Locke defeats Gale. Locke leaves with Ava on Freedom.
Victory. Denouement. Written by Rex Rouviere.
